Are there unconventional methods for modeling and constructing ceramic forms? Through careful observation of the intrinsic qualities of clay, this course aims to circumvent the objective obstacles naturally imposed by the ceramic material in order to create objects considered “impossible” to make. Following Ulivieri’s practice and research, we will explore the creation of forms deemed unachievable, lighten the weight of ceramic structures by freeing the decoration from its support, and attempt to dissolve the boundary between interior and exterior, between form and content. The clay slips and takes shape, free and independent. Sometimes supported by slender legs.
