The course is designed for those who wish to deepen and update their skills in ceramic design methodologies and sustainable practices—areas in which this material is playing an increasingly central role today. The program was created with the goal of exploring the relationships between design, materials, technical skills, and sustainable innovation in contemporary ceramics, while highlighting the productive and cultural heritage of Montelupo Fiorentino and its Ceramics School as a hub for research, experimentation, and design. The curriculum brings together artisanal knowledge, industrial processes, and innovative technologies, such as 3D printing for fluid-dense materials, the use of experimental clay mixtures, and the development of environmentally friendly glazes. The course guides students from design research through prototyping to product communication, with a particular focus on the sustainability of materials and production processes, as well as the relationship between design, the local area, and material culture.
