/ CODICE CORSO

Participants will model small “beings,” which will then be scanned and transformed into digital models for 3D printing.
An exercise linking manual skill, technology, and critical reflection on the relationship between humans and machines: a true passing of the baton from gesture to algorithm.
The course will be held in Italian.

ABOUT PREVIDI:
A post-conceptual artist with a multidisciplinary approach, Riccardo Previdi’s research investigates the existential condition of contemporary humans in relation to technological advancement. Confronted with the promises of political and social redemption of modernity, his work responds with a question mark. Adopting a constructive skepticism, he does not aim to refute progress but to explore its complexity and contradictions. His practice spans multiple media: 3D printing, painting, digital printing, installations, video, and photography.

WHAT YOU LEARN
During this workshop, participants will be invited to model small “beings” in clay, shaping creatures born from imagination, spontaneous gesture, and personal manual skill. Each object will not remain confined to the physical world: through 3D scanning, these sculptures will be transformed into digital models, ready to be printed and reinterpreted in a virtual space, creating a dialogue between material and technology.
The exercise represents a meeting point between craftsmanship and digital innovation, where bodily sensitivity and gesture precision interact with algorithmic logic. This is not only about learning a technique; it is a pathway for critical reflection on the relationship between humans and machines, exploring how manual creativity can coexist with technological processes, and how art can evolve and adapt to new tools.
This passing of the baton from gesture to algorithm encourages participants to see how digital tools can amplify and reinterpret traditional practice without replacing it, generating a unique dialogue between material, mind, and technology. At the end of the workshop, each participant will have not only a tangible object but also an experience combining the sensory dimension of making with the infinite potential of the digital world.
